My opinion on Gundam AGE
So there will be a new Gundam series called Gundam AGE. I saw the promo video of it and most people didn't like it. Well as of now, here's what I can say about it...
To be honest I did not really like the Gundam design ,though I actually liked the design of the enemy mobile suits. If ever the series is aiming to look like as if its set in a newer generation, the designs should contain some features that were not really present in the past series or something that will be greatly distinguished from the other series. The main Gundam looks like as if it's a prototype of a Gundam 00 mobile suit. So the mecha designs were not really bad, it just needs a little more work.
Since the series is oriented to young audiences, the character designs are suitable. It kind of gives me this Pokemon or Digimon feel for some reason though. Some old school Gundam fans probably did not like the new characters introduced because of the drastic change of style. I had the same reaction with Gundam 00, but it I got used to it. My only problem is that the character designs need more originality. For some reason, the main character reminds me of some Inazuma Eleven characters fused together. The characters has features not shown in the past series but it was not done very well.
I've only seen a few details on the plot so I won't be talking about that now.
So all in all, I'm not very hyped or excited on this new series basing it from the designs; it's not actually my taste but I'm still going to watch it whenever it gets released. It may be decent or better than I actually think. And no, I don't believe that Gundam is dead.

CHARACTER FORMULA

I see a resemblance. They look alike and it seems that Mark could be a combination of Yuu and Zero. Mark has the same voice as Yuu, and almost has the same hair color as Zero... Or maybe Mark's hair color is a combination of Yuu's and Zero's. The hair styles looks similar too. Maybe their piloting skills are also similar (I'm not sure if Zero is an ace though). Yuu is not actually a new type but Zero is one, artificially. I'm not sure if Mark is a newtype or a cyber newtype. All I know is that his newtype ability is not as strong at first. Okay, so maybe Mark is not Yuu and Zero's love-child. Maybe they are long lost brothers. w
My drawing is pretty bad, so here are some pictures of them.
